The ability to draw high currents is ideal for powering high-definition camcorders and a camera light, simultaneously. Using two Li-Ion batteries to share the load ensures that you do not discharge the battery at an excessive rate. The combined weight of two L110s and the Power Plate is less than that of a Ni-Cd SuperPack, of equivalent voltage.
Charging
To ensure the longest possible cycle life, PAG Li-Ion batteries should always be charged with PAG chargers. Two or four channel models are available that incorporate
V-Mount, PAGlok or Snap-on battery connectors, and a choice of sequential or parallel charging programs. PAG V-Mount L110 batteries can also be charged using a suitable Sony charger.
One of the benefits of Li-Ion technology is the low self-discharge rate. This means that batteries do not have to be topped up if there is a significant time lapse between full-charging and use. There is also no perceived ‘memory’ effect’ as Li-Ion batteries do not suffer as a result of partial charging and discharging.
Safety Standard
PAG Li-Ion batteries have higher safety standards than those of other manufacturers. Quality branded cells, such as those utilised by the PAG L110, are a vital prerequisite to the creation of a safe Li-Ion battery. In addition, PAG has incorporated many levels of protection to ensure that its Li-Ion batteries are the safest available (see Specification). Each protection feature has at least one back-up and all are fail-safe.
The battery’s internal circuits are coated with Parylene, the premier conformal coating, to protect circuits against the results of severe abuse to the cell pack. From a safety viewpoint PAG believes this coating to be an essential additional level of protection.
