PAG launches its new ZL-Series of flight-friendly Zero-Lithium Travel-Pack batteries at NAB.

The L95e incorporates a new capacity indicator called the Power & Time Circle. It uses five LEDs to display charge status in terms of percentage. When the display button is pressed each LED that is lit represents approximately 20% of available capacity.

Power hungry high-definition equipment requires higher capacity batteries. For this reason PAG has developed and introduced a new 110 watt-hour Li-Ion battery. The 14.8V 7.5Ah PAG L110 utilises high-capacity cells and offers increased run-time with no increase in size or weight.

Shoot All Day
Two L110s can provide enough power for a days shooting, depending on the camera, and lighting requirement. They are small and light enough to be carried in your camera bag.

Compact Power
The PAG L110 shares the same impact-resistant casing and advanced internal features as the L95. PAG’s unique electronic protection system guards against the damaging processes that reduce capacity and is itself protected against the effects of internal damage.

Life Guaranteed
The combination of PAG’s protection system, and its proprietary charging techniques, prolongs battery life. It enables the company to guarantee the L110 for two years.

Unbeatable Compatibility
The L110 is available in models that are compatible with the three major mounting systems: V-Mount, PAGlok, and Snap-on. PAG is the only manufacturer able to offer this level of compatibility.

Power & Time
All L110 models incorporate PAG’s highly accurate Power & Time Display, which provides a prediction of equipment run-time on-load that counts down in 1 minute increments. It also displays capacity in ampere-hours and percentage. PAG’s unique display is the first to take into account the ambient temperature, the changes of load that occur during use, the charge status and the condition of the cells.

Combined Capacities
The capacities of two L110 batteries (PAGlok or V-Mount) can be combined, to provide a higher current draw capability and longer run-times, by using the PAG Power Plate. This dual battery mount is available with a choice of camera connector, making it compatible with the three most popular battery mounting systems.

The ability to draw high currents is ideal for powering high-definition camcorders and a camera light, simultaneously. Using two Li-Ion batteries to share the load ensures that you do not discharge the battery at an excessive rate. The combined weight of two L110s and the Power Plate is less than that of a Ni-Cd SuperPack, of equivalent voltage.

Charging
To ensure the longest possible cycle life, PAG Li-Ion batteries should always be charged with PAG chargers. Two or four channel models are available that incorporate V-Mount, PAGlok or Snap-on battery connectors, and a choice of sequential or parallel charging programs. PAG V-Mount L110 batteries can also be charged using a suitable Sony charger.

One of the benefits of Li-Ion technology is the low self-discharge rate. This means that batteries do not have to be topped up if there is a significant time lapse between full-charging and use. There is also no perceived ‘memory’ effect’ as Li-Ion batteries do not suffer as a result of partial charging and discharging.

Safety Standard
PAG Li-Ion batteries have higher safety standards than those of other manufacturers. Quality branded cells, such as those utilised by the PAG L110, are a vital prerequisite to the creation of a safe Li-Ion battery. In addition, PAG has incorporated many levels of protection to ensure that its Li-Ion batteries are the safest available (see Specification). Each protection feature has at least one back-up and all are fail-safe.

The battery’s internal circuits are coated with Parylene, the premier conformal coating, to protect circuits against the results of severe abuse to the cell pack. From a safety viewpoint PAG believes this coating to be an essential additional level of protection.
